I took a walk around town this morning; no real destination; just a desire to hear God and to pray for our church plant and for Florence.
To be honest, I was whining. I was complaining to God that we haven't seen more fruit, that we haven't made bigger strides, that I'm impatient, etc.
I kept noticing the trees as I walked, trees that were in full early summer leaf, trees that had been there for many, many, many years. And I felt the Lord very clearly remind me that growing trees this large, with roots this deep, takes time. Lots of time. Establishing a healthy tree cannot be forced or rushed, or it won't survive.
We covet your prayers as we ask God to bring us leaders who will share our vision. We know that if we want to go fast, we'll go alone; if we want to go far, we'll go together. We're in this for the long haul. -Allison
